on the Dreams of Artists and Poets

In the heart of Venice, lies stunning architecture, intricate canals, towering campaniles, and picturesque bridges.  An aquatic city, where light and water combine to create a restless magic.  It is a unique and evocative place, somewhere between dream and reality, present and past. 

Venice was once a powerful maritime republic, leaving a legacy of artistic and cultural wealth visible throughout the city.  Historic palaces, like Ca'd'oro, and Palazzo Ducale line the waterways, creating a distinctive and timeless cityscape that seems to emerge from the water itself; a place where gondolas glide through both grand and narrow canals.

A short stroll from Piazza San Marco you stumble upon little campos, shabby squares with an age-old well in the middle, an old church on one side, pigeons, and laundry hanging outside the tall Venetian windows.  Venice, one of the most touristy places in the world, has quiet corners if you seek them out.  La Serenissima, the most serene, will always be completely magical to me.
